The Purbachal New Town Project, which spans a vast 6,227 acres, or 25 square kilometers, is RAJUK's most ambitious project to date. This enormous project involves building an eight-lane road that connects to Pragati Swarani / Airport Road as well as 26,000 residential buildings with 62,000 apartments. The project is further divided into 30 sectors, each of which advances the project's main goal.

Project Location of Purbachal New Town
Setting a significant prospect for urban growth in the area, the Purbachal New Town project is RAJUK's first attempt at building a self-sufficient township. With the rivers Balu and Sitalakhya to its west and east, the Purbachal Project is situated in Rupganj Upazila of Narayangonj district while the remaining portion is in Kaliganj Upazila of Gazipur district. The distance from Dhaka's zero point is 16 kilometers. The entire area is 6227 acres.

Current Condition and Prospects of the Purbachal New Town Project
Construction on the sites for sectors 1–5, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 20, 22, and 29–30 is nearly finished. The development of the site is ongoing in various industries. The site development process has begun on the Gazipur portion, and it is currently at 65%.
The majority of the road construction projects in sectors 1, 3, 5, 8, 9, 11, 13, 14, 17, 20, 29, and 30 have been finished. In sectors 2, 7, 10, 18, and 19, road construction is now taking place. Additionally, road building won't start until other sectors of growth have made significant progress.
Bridge No. 3 has been built in the Narayanganj sector of Purbachal, and construction on Bridge No. 25 is currently proceeding with 70% of the work completed. Tenders are being processed for the remaining bridges.
On both sides of the road, 100-foot canals are being built at the same time.
Electric poles have already been built in sectors 1, 3, 4, 11, 13, 14, 17, 23, and 30. Utility services like power, gas, water supply, telephone, and sewerage are set up as necessary. Electric Sub-Station installation at Sector #4 is already complete.
